“Edward Scissor Hands”, the whole film is about a robot on the modern dark fairy tale. The highlight of this film’s art is in the makeup and costume modeling, the colorful color of the house and the image of the exaggerated design are quite surreal. This film also won the Oscar for the best makeup and best costume. Edward pale complexion and the claws of the silver hand scissors, Show a certain texture and luster, and the castle where he lives is black and white tones. Indoor furniture, decoration, clothing, supplies color, full color, made the fairy tale world more pretty.
One of the most important props in the film is the scissors. It is scissors also is a part of Edward body; scissors is very long and sharp. The designer exaggerated the shape of the scissors and increased the length of the blade. The top part of the scissors is shaped like an olecranon, increasing the risk of scissors and the atmosphere of fear. The scissors hand is the core of the whole film, because of the scissors cut off the communication but also cut off the love between Edward and Kim.
