Starting in 1910 with the School of Arts in Kazan, Rodchenko first emerged with painting (Karginov 9). In terms of influences, Rodchenko had a diversity of movements, people and personalities alike. It was movements such as Art Nouveau and Futurism - from Russian avant-garde - that helped start his work in abstraction (Karginov 11-12). It was major figures such as Vladimir Tatlin and Kasmir Malevich that lead to his experimentations and deeper analyzation into the structure of things (Karginov 14, 25). He became a man of many mediums to the point which it would be easier to list a method he does not dabble in (Dabrowski, Dickerman, Galassi 19). Rodchenko delved deeply into Art Nouveau’s organic forms and patterning. Though, rather than drawing from nature as the movement’s artists did, he drew from the style of those artists themselves such as Aubrey Beardsley (11 Karginov). Upon discovering something that interested him, he isolated it and worked with it extensively. He analyses led to gradual progressions from simple ideas to very complex constructions. In essence, his ability to construct came about because of his ability to successfully deconstruct and understand how something functioned. If he did not understand something, he set out to figure out what it was, why it was and what he was able to create with it. The curiosity and enthusiasm that Rodchenko presented in his work fascinates and inspires me into taking a closer and more analytical look at the world

After listening to the song, there were a couple of different lines that I perceived as important in relation to the parents of Edward Kenzakowski. The first line I will talk about, which comes towards the end of the song, was “be firm on your kids, say no to your kids, say yes to your kids, take it easy on your kids”. Maybe they should they have been firm with him and spoken to him directly about his behavior given his promising future. Planting false evidence on your son seems very drastic for the behavior he was presenting.…
