Edward Kenzakowski Analysis

After listening to the song, there were a couple of different lines that I perceived as important in relation to the parents of Edward Kenzakowski. The first line I will talk about, which comes towards the end of the song, was “be firm on your kids, say no to your kids, say yes to your kids, take it easy on your kids”. In the case of Edward, the reasons for his parents wanting to show him a lesson was because he was hanging around with the wrong crowd, staying out late, and drinking. Maybe they should they have been firm with him and spoken to him directly about his behavior given his promising future. Planting false evidence on your son seems very drastic for the behavior he was presenting. This all could have been stemming from an early age, they were probably not used to telling him no. By staying consistent throughout his life on decisions, maybe he would have listened to …show more content…
Not completely. Yes, he is a major factor in regarding the outcome. If it were not for Ciavarella's intervention into Edward's life and his ultimate derailment, Edward might still be alive. A burden must also be placed upon his parents, who are the reason Edward was in front of the judge in the first place. This whole interaction may not have taken place had the parents used an alternative method to scare straight their son. Not to downplay Judge Ciavarella's role, he completely over reacted in this case. The constant incarceration of Edward, and being told he has problems, played a major role in destroying Edwards hopes and dreams, something which the justice system should never do, and something which the justice system should do the opposite of. Edward was a part of the wrestling team, maybe that was his personal outlet for his aggressive behavior previously. By taking away his outlet which he enjoyed, it may have caused him to suppress his emotions, and possibly attributed to his aggressive behavior in the

Nathan Shapow said that they were fed very little in concentration camps. They were given coffee to drink in the mornings, more to keep them energetic than to keep them alive, and also little bits of bread broken into four pieces, to feed four people. I could never live off of this diet, let alone do heavy labor. They did very much work, and those who couldn’t work, like children, the elderly, women, babies even, were given lethal gas until they died or burned alive in stoves. I knew that Jews were gassed but not burned alive.…

Klusendorf argues through a biblical standpoint that abortion is immoral from multiple standpoints. He starts with discussing whether if the Bible being silent allows it by default, clears up his views on what he considers human beings, and ends with an examination on the pro-choice interpretation of a Bible passage. His first point is that we should know that abortion is wrong because we are treating other humans unjustly by doing so. Racists are then given as an example, who had used Scripture’s silence as their proof. Another one of his main points is that it was unnecessary to address the matter at the time.…

In the realm of acoustic ecology, Dr. Bernie Krause is arguably the foremost authority on natural soundscapes and recording them in the field. He has the largest private repository of intact recorded natural, primary, environments and has detailed extensively in his books The Great Animal Orchestra and Voices of the Wild, the importance of preserving natural soundscapes, not only for their inherent ecological value, but as an integral aspect of humanities cultural heritage. Krause’s contribution to soundscape study includes the ‘niche hypothesis’, arguing that natural soundscapes co-evolve with organisms creating acoustic niches over time in their environment. This theory brings interesting questions into the natural “orchestration” of sound…

At first glance of Elke, by Georg Baselitz, there is a negative atmosphere coming from the portrait. The deep hues of blue give an undertone that is depressing. The upside composition makes it look as though everything in the world has been turned upside down, and therefore gives feelings trouble. The way Baselitz does not paint all the way to the edges completely gives a feeling that the portrait is an illusion or memory. Larry Gagosian says his “iconic “upside-down” paintings, in which bodies... ignoring the realities of the physical world, make obvious the artifice of painting” (par 1).…

Shane Koyczan is an award-winning Canadian poet, author and performer who rose to global prominence in 2013 when he published the spoken word Poem project “To This Day”. Koyczan proficiently represents his bullying experience and its shared aims in society through the proficient use of emotionally lyrical techniques to illustrate its emotional results and the view of discovering oneself. Koyczan attract the audience attention into his personal experience by relating his own experience as a foundation on which he discovered self-identity. Koyczan draws the difference between the real meaning of his self-identity that represents connotations of selfless sacrifice, compassion and humbleness and the perception of others who level social isolation and emotional degradation against him. By expertly and paradoxically incorporating those who bully and those who experience the bullying as the audience of the poem, Koyczan is able to create an aspirational foundation to his message.…
