Edward Higgins White II was an astronaut for NASA, but it all started when he was just a little boy. His father, Edward Higgins White, Sr. was a United States Air Force general. His father took him, at age 12, to fly in a WWII T-6 trainer. Since he had inspiration from his father, he became fascinated with flight and air travel. In September 1962, he was named a part of NASA's team and soon after was the pilot for Gemini 4. Later in the spaceship, him and his team were completing a bunch of tasks, like they would do in space, when a fire started in the cockpit and ended the lives of his teammates and himself. He died in the first Apollo spacecraft, leaving his 2 children and wife in sorrow. I can connect to
