There is no record that William Shakespeare ever went anywhere besides London or Stratford so how is it possible for him to have written about that place with so much detail. Edward De Vere on the other hand had a higher chance to have traveled to Italy and many other places. Since he lived with the Queen and Lord Cecil he was able to travel a lot. “In Italy, he visited almost all of the Italian locations that later would provide the settings for Shakespeare's Italian plays” (Dr. Michael Delahoyde). Under the care of Cecil and the Queen, he had tutors teach him to read, write and learn foreign languages. He was also surrounded by Cecil’s massive library where he learned literature. Edward de Vere graduated from Cambridge and Oxford University at the age of fourteen. Many plays were written about the law and Shakespeare must have known a lot about the royal court to write because not just anyone could have done so. “Italy and law required a certain prerequisite level of education. He could have easily changed the name around and used the name of the man who was like a father to him, William Cecil, to create the name William Shakespeare.
