Ron Mueck is an Australian artist who is known for his real life, and some-what disturbing sculptures. However, before he began creating these magnificent sculptures he began his work on a children’s television show for 15 years before finding his way into special effects working in films such as, “Labyrinth” in 1986. These special effects works lead him to model making where he would create models for commercials and different advertisements. Mueck soon got tired of photography and felt as if it took a lot away from the presence of original objects in the world. This is where he fell head first into his love for sculpture making.…

Turner, Édouard Manet, Paul Cézanne and Kazimir Malevich that have influenced and shaped the art world. J.M.W Turner is arguably the greatest art revolutionist of all time. Wonderful Master of Art, Grant Wood's Grant Woods is an amazing artist which I failed to see before browsing through this book. Grant woods has a very elegant way of painting art. By making his art appear realistic his art is much more complex than you might think. Figuring out what artist to pick was extremely difficult. Once the painting of American Gothic came up I suddenly knew which artist I wanted to study.…

“The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”, by Rod Serling. The Characters are very important to the events in the plot happening in the story. “No doubt it did have something to do with all this power failure and the rest of it. Meteors can do some crazy things.” The evidence in this section is that these sentences were moving through everyone's minds because they didn’t want to believe anything else to where it would freak them out.…

Samuel Gomez's work attracted me more than any others. Looking at his work we can predict how much effort he put on it. His works are just filled with black and white ink. It seems like he has lot of experience working with contrast colors and that he has come up with the best use of black and white. It is amazing to see his use of lines, and shapes.…

The biggest problems in America that I’ll briefly go over are drug addiction, depression, and education. Education is the stronghold to solving predicaments within a community as well as worldwide. As different as every person can be we are still one thing, a human. A special thing about us is that we can share a bond, an emotion, and I believe we’ve become cultural psychopaths who don’t empathize with people who are different from us. Disclaimer:…

Out of all the artists depicted in the documentary, I’ve found the work of Cai Guo-Qiang to be the most interesting and skillful. I love how he uses gun powder, a material in which he calls “uncontrollable” and “destructive”, to create unique pieces of work. The art is in both in the inferno presentation and the left-over design on the paper. The way the paper yellows and the flow of lines in his work resembles a lot like the ancient Chinese artwork on scrolls. Instead of just drawing out and painting the art, Cai takes his time to set up the material and then takes the chance in how it comes out.…

The Artist was filmed in a stunning black and white. It took me back in time when men wore suits, women wore hats and when a simple dance could lead to love. It was uplifting, heart-warming, and hilarious. I loved this film from the beginning to the end, and I fell in love with every character. Charming performances from Berenice Bejo and Jean Dujardin, who provide all the charm and moving moments in the film.…

In the book club, students are divided into groups where each group is responsible to read, discuss, and present one story or novel of their choice. For my group, we read the novel title “Chasing the Scream” by Johann Hari. My impression on the story was fascinating because it change my perspective of how I see drug addiction, which is the unresolved issue in the United States today. Before I read this novel, how I see individuals who become addicted to drugs were negative because I thought that these individuals are the one to blame for it causes violence in a society.…
