Edvard Munch Edvard Much was born December 12, 1863 the 2nd out of five children. His mother died 5 years after he was born and that was the start of the many tragedies to come to his family. His sister also died from the same disease his mother passed from tuberculosis. His other sister suffered from a mental illness disease, and his other brother died at thirty from pneumonia. In 1879 Edvard attended a technical college for engineering but stop attending once he found out his passion for art. A couple years later he enrolled in an art college, while renting a studio with a few different artists, and entered his first art show.
After 3 years of art school he got a scholarship and traveled to France for three weeks. Once he returned to his home town Norway he began working on his piece called “The Sick Child.” This piece is very dark. It shows a lot of sad and sincere emotion. It’s a picture of his sister on her death bed. I love this picture because of the way he captured such a sad moment. I feel u can really see here suffering. Like she knows what is happening to her and she is waiting for her final moment.

Edvard lived in mainly France from that time to 1892. Still having his scholarships he entered the most effective and inconvenient stage in his artist career. In this time Edvard undertook the “Frieze of Life,” which was twenty two works of art for the 1902 Berlin exhibition.
