This semester was the second semester for my study of Master of Educational Leadership course. I felt very grateful and thankful as I’m able to continue my Master course for this semester. I also felt very lucky because we got an expert and professional lecturer, Dr. Sailesh as our instructor for the contemporary theories and models in educational leadership course. Before the class, I realised that this semester must be the more challenge period for me as I need to learn, explore and understand deeper about the contemporary theories and models in educational leadership. As a reseacher and a future leader, this course is essential and useful for me where it can guide and help me to become a good leader and also enhance my leadership in educatioan …show more content…
Through the discussion, I was able to get the clear concepts and guideline about the pro forma, evaluation and assessment overview for this course. I noticed that for this course, we are not only required to prepare and submit the weekly individual assignment, weekly critical reflections but also needed to participate actively in the forum via the online spectrum. For my opinion, the forum was provided me a good platform to practise my life-long learning through the discussion and sharing. As a future leader, I must continue to practise this life-long learning which able to train myself become a good and succesful leader. At the end of the course, we also need to apply the relevant theories, models, and concepts to the educational settings and present it in group. I believe that this presentation is very important and useful for us to explore and show our understanding about the leadership theories, models, concepts and how we apply those for the different circumstances and educational …show more content…
At the beginning, we are asked to define the three terms in context of role of school principals as administrators, managers and leaders in mind map and later we need to exchange our group ideas with other groups. Though the discussion and sharing section, I was able to understand and distinguish the three terms between administration, management and leadership. For my view, the administration is related to the position and job to frames the objectives and policies of an organization while for the management is about the system on how to manage and implement the policies and objectives which planned by others. For leadership, it is focus on how to influence, motivate, and enable people to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organizations. The scopes for the administrators involved developing polies, controlling law, staffing, directing and budgeting while scopes for managers are included managing work and people, implement the getting works by others and it is no need to influence each others. As a leader, we need to deal with the people and lead them. The scopes for a leader are included leading, creating motivation, influence and relationship with others and also inspire others for the better achievement.
