Educational genealogy
My mother graduated from high school in the 1980 's. She then went to a community college and received her nursing degree. From there, she went to a university and completed her bachelors degree to become an RN. My father did not finish high school and now he works minor city jobs when he gets them. My grandfather and grandmother graduated from high school in the 1950 's. Once graduated, he went to serve the military. After, he went to college and completed his english degree. My grandmother stayed home to take care of her children but later joined the work force. My aunt graduated from high school in the early 1990 's and then went to a university for two years. After marriage a year later, she went back and finished her degree.

All have positively influenced me in some way. My mother knew from a young age she wanted to be a nurse and no matter what obstacle came her way she achieved her goals. My aunt furthered her education and got her masters just last year while taking care of a family and working as a teacher because she saw the added benefits from a higher education. Both my grandpa and best friend served the military and then completed college. They served their country and then bettered themselves. My father showed me what not to do and the results of little education limits options. My grandmother went from housewife to worker but always put her family first. Still, she told me how important education is. They all motivate me to get the best out of myself and not to settle for less.
