Educational Career Goals

Decent Essays
My educational career goals are to remain in a path that I am constantly interested so I won’t be changing majors in college, as well as somehow always being involved outside of school with these subjects of interest. In order to achieve the goal of being constantly interested in my career I need to find a job in a specific field that uses bioscience to aid others including humans and animals because that interests me. I also need to find a specific subject or field that is constantly growing and expanding in its knowledge rapidly so I don't become uninterested at anytime.

Right now these jobs of interests are in fields that incorporate math, science, and technology (as of Junior year in highschool there is still some time to change) and what specifically interest me/ what I would like to major in is Biomedical Engineering. I can achieve this goal by applying for many different summer internships that focus on STEM education but more specifically Science, for example applying for the KEYS internship at the UofA can help me not only explore and experiment for myself but also help me gain recognition for my hardwork and competitiveness. I can also achieve the goal of incorporating subjects that I enjoy by continuing to be part of our high school robotics team CRUSH outside of school as often as I can. The CRUSH room gives me a place to focus on STEM activities whether it's writing an essay with my teammates (which helps me gain communication and teamwork skills which are always good skills to have for a job) or working with my team to do machinery work on the robot.

Notably, I have always loved anything science related, even when growing up I would study my mom's biomedical flash cards. No wonder why I have chosen to pursue a major in biology. Moreover, when you are a child you start transcending into what you are destined to be without even noticing it. Whilst becoming fascinated with science I wanted to solve the problem of poverty, building housing for the poor, providing a fresh supply of clothes, and guiding them to find jobs or better yet create jobs for them to do would be amazing. Getting accepted into Saint Leo University can guide me onto the pathway of success.…

When deciding which HTC program, I always knew I want to go into some type of science. Although there is only one science program, I chose Biological Sciences for two major reasons: the love of science and the preparation for veterinarian school. Science has always been my favorite subject in school because what I learned in the classroom I could use outside the classroom. It was not something that I would never use once the test was over, it was ideas and skills that would help me see more detail in the world around me. For example, from my biology and chemistry classes, I've taken lab inquiry and procedure skills to solve several problems I've come across both at home and work.…

Describe your educational and career goals and explain what or who has inspired or helped shape these goals. During my high school years, I recall working in the fields during vacation breaks with my mother harvesting tomatoes, picking up cherries, and pruning grape vines. Although, when I questioned my mother why these fruits spoil, she responded it was due to "little bugs," which was not a sufficient response.…
