Educational Career Goals Essay

My educational career goal is to own a dress store and salon with exclusive designer brands. Currently, I am a sophomore at Texas Tech University and enrolled in the Rawls Business College in pursuit of a finance degree. The selection of this degree was made due to my ambition to start up my own business in the future. A degree in finance will give me the ability to maintain and implement a business strategy. Texas Tech’s finance degree plan is made up of accounting, marketing, and investing classes that will guide me through many things that starting a business requires. Startup industries often hire professionals to help with financial planning skills that I will obtain through this degree. It teaches students how business finances can be managed to maximize profits of organizations and keep their startup ventures on track after they have been established. Additionally, a background in finance allows business owners to assess investment projects instead of relying on intuition alone. Financial functions like capital …show more content…
This strategy will help me find the perfect location for what I envision. The store will have two stories with formal dresses on the bottom floor and wedding dresses on the top. Designers will be busy at work with alterations and new sketches. Brides to be will fill up the salon on the bottom floor getting ready for their big day.
In addition to my career goals, I want to have a have a big family and experience different places. Family is everything in my life and it always will be. All my life I have lived in the same place and can’t wait to be exposed in a world with such great opportunities. Every day I see and hear of needs all over the world and I want to make a difference. I’ve been on a few mission trips so far, but at some point, I want to go on a long-term mission trip to help and experience
