Educational Autobiography Education before college was a real rollercoaster for me. First I went to an elementary school in a suburb of D.C.. Not much stood out to me but I enjoyed playing sports and hanging out with my friends. Had an adjunct math teacher learning math that was way too hard for a 10 year old and that ruined math for me for a couple years but eventually I bounced back. After what I would call a pretty standard public elementary schooling I moved onto middle school. In middle school I enjoyed math and science classes but lost my interest for English. My teachers in Science and Math classes stood out to me and some being former professionals in the field before entering their time as a teacher they had interesting insight to share from past endeavors. I continued to play sports and again feel like I had a …show more content…
I dropped mechanical engineering and tried picking up computer science which is the degree I will graduate CU with. I work for the school as a Course Assistant who holds regular office hours teaching the language that the original Pokémon games were written in and work remotely as an Application Developer. I am in the B.A. of computer science so I get to take different electives such as School and Society. I have enjoyed having a broad education so that I could take classes in sociology, physics, astronomy, education, writing, math, and computer science. I am definitely glad I could take so many different subjects so that I do not burn out in my major and I am still interested in my field of work. I only have two semesters left of college and hope to attend grad school a few years later for something like data science. This semester I am doing research in outlier detection, taking School and Society, U.S. Campaigns and Elections, Artificial Intelligence, and applied Machine Learning it should be an interesting semester to lead into my final

I was ten years ago and I can still vividly remember sitting on an old, wooden rocking chair while the words of The Very Hungry Caterpillar trembled off my lips to a room full of second graders. I can recall the eagerness and excitement that filled their little faces as I flipped from page to page. There was an abundance of curiosity and desire to learn in that classroom that made me happy that I decided on skipping recess to read to the younger students. There was a fire that lit in my ten-year-old body that day. That was the day where I finally had an answer to all the “What do you want to be when you grow up?”…

Autobiography I have worked with children since high school and waited several years before becoming a teacher because I didn’t feel I fit the teacher mold. I believe children should have choices, be highly engaged and learn through inquiry. My personal childhood education was based on starting and finishing seatwork assignments. Later in life my son’s fourth grade teacher inspired me to earn my degree in Elementary Education. She helped me see that I could teach within my belief system with others who had the same passion.…
