Assess The Role Of Education In Today's Culture

In today 's culture, there is a huge emphasis on education, particularly higher education, and determining what vital roles it plays in our society, as well as figuring out the impacts that it has on individuals and its overall impacts on society as a whole. Throughout time, many people have argued that obtaining a quality education is essential solely for the purpose of obtaining the necessary credentials that will be required for jobs or positions later on in life; however I believe there is more to it than that. I believe that a quality education throughout someone 's life is not only important for the credentials that will be required later on in life, but is also essential for teaching him or her proper and civil behavior, values, virtues, and good manners, further expanding the individual 's knowledge of what is going on around them, as well as shaping an individual into a productive member of society.
