Instead, students are simply memorizing facts just long enough to pass a test then they move along. The current educational system does not embrace the individuals or individuality which leads to students going through the motions when it comes to their education. Making students sit in classes as the teacher recites information for them to memorize is taking all personality out of the classroom. This kind of mentality leads to a society that casts extraordinary individuals aside as they do not conform to the rest of society. It is Freires belief that educators should learn from students and education should be ever changing, as the world is ever changing (Freire, …show more content…
If this were started at a younger age, students would have a much deeper understanding of the world around them and would truly be learning subjects as opposed to just memorizing them. This would translate directly to the college years and college students would continue their deep thinking and understanding of the world. They would be able to think outside the box and would also be more open minded, improving the outlook of our society in the future.
