In the United States students have more power than teachers. This means that teachers can’t do whatever they want to their students, such as hitting and suspending them. In the United States teachers can’t give to student’s corporal punishments or take other serious actions over their students. In the United States it is very organized how things work between students and teachers. However, in Eritrea teachers have more power than the students. For example, in Eritrea teachers can punish their students, such hitting and suspending them. The principle or government give the teachers more power to do whatever they want to their students. As a result, the teachers give corporal punishment to their students such as walking with their knee on the rock. This is the worst part that students get in school. In the United States, the classrooms are well organized, and the teachers encourage the students to ask questions. In addition, there are a group discussions or the teachers assign the students to work together. When students finish their homework, it is teacher’s responsibility to check their homework. If students miss any assignments or tests, they can make up the test or assignment. Similarly, in Eritrea the classrooms are very organized and clean like the United States. Teachers have to check the homework for each student. The students have group discussions like students in America. Also, if they miss their test or assignment, they can take it. In the United State, the government provides school materials for students; likewise, in Eritrea the government provides the facilities. In addition, the subjects that students take in this country and my country are the same, such as English, Math, and science. In conclusion, the main differences between schools in my country and this country are transportation and power of teachers. Also, there are some similarities like teacher’s responsibilities and school facilities. I wish the rule of schools in my country could be like the United States, especially the corporal punishment I don’t agree that kind of punishment having students.
