Thus, the majority of our society has turned into lazy-thinkers. Not because they don’t go after an education, but because they do not have the desire to see other forms of becoming educated outside the norm. The passion to become a good learner. To me, a good learner is someone who not only learns something new, but passes it along. It reminds me of my first mentor in the Army. She provided me with this (now) core principle I have towards education. “It’s okay if someone ask you a question you don’t know the answer to. ‘Tell them you don’t know the answer. Search for the answer with them and learn the information together and from each other. ‘And if asked again, you better know the answer, for you have no excuse!” It was then, I discovered the importance of retaining knowledge for my own advancement. Quite frankly, it had motivated my inner growth as subconscious processes began to evolve, prior to me conceptually understanding them. More so, how it would go on to impact others, creating forms for replication. After which, only advancing its vital ways due to positive factors. And while should allow and appreciate the value of education provided by leaders, we should not feel constricted to the confinements of one form of education.
