Education is the key to success. If you want to become someone important and successful, education is going to help. Education is the knowledge, skill and understanding a person gets from attending a school, college or university (Merriam Webster). At this point, you’re probably asking yourself, what does someone who is educated look like? Well, a person who is well educated has their Bachelor’s degree; they are successful and by that being said, they have their life together, they have a career and not just a job. By having a good education and graduating with at least a Bachelor’s can’t always mean that you will find a job right away. Employers are the ones who seek out those that are willing to give it their all and have a good education.

In the article, Kozol explains when an eight year old girl told him, “Dear Mr. Kozol, we don’t have the things you have. You have clean things. We don’t have. You have all the thing and we don’t have all the thing. Can you help us?” (pg. 351). We are all equal no matter where we come from nor what we look like and deserve the equal opportunities like those who have money. There is a separation in the cities some are poorer than others; that shouldn 't affect if you attend school or not, but sadly it does. Or would you rather have them at home by your side and helping them learn things on their own? This act is called unschooling. Unschooling is when someone is not enrolled in school. Ben Hewitt has his children unschooled, he said it was similar to homeschooling (pg. 3). Well according to Ben Hewitt in “We Don’t Need No Education” he stated that both his sons learned how to read and write on their own without the aid of schooling (pg. 14). That is something fascinating, of course who wouldn’t want their children learning the values of schooling and life both at the same time? But, what is going to happen when they ask if they could go to normal school? They aren’t going to know what resources are out there available to them.
