Education is taken for granted in some countries. This isn’t and shouldn’t be the case in Australia. In Australia everyone has the right to education. It’s a simple human right, which in some countries isn’t given to the students who need it or want it (Rogers, 2015). Another important area of education is that no student should be denied his or her education rights. No matter where the student is from, who the student is and what culture or religion the student associates with (Garrett, 2015). This goes against social justice principle, as it’s a simple right that can be easily afforded every student. A great teacher provides and creates an environment where the student feels wanted; where they are valued and safe within …show more content…
This ensures that students have a stable place to learn and the class runs smoothly (Rogers, 2015). My goal is to create a classroom that is a neutral environment where students feel safe and where they want to learn. Every one in the class is equal to each other and has the same rights as one another, no one is different and no one is left out. A controlled environment is best for students (Garrett, 2015). This allows the teacher to keep control of their class and manage any issues that may occur within the classroom. Controlling certain areas of a student’s education, such as when students can talk to each other, work independently or when group tasks are to be completed allows the teacher to remain in control and remain in charge (Canter, 2015). The students should always have a constant routine that they will follow. This routine will allow students to know what has to be done next, to ensure they can be prepared for what they are to complete (Garrett, 2015). Without a routine in place problems will arise and will be difficult to control. A routine is best for students and allows them to learn how to manage themselves in preparation, for adulthood and entering the …show more content…
The desk will be on an angle (Baker, 2016). This allows the teacher to see everything that is going on around the classroom. This also allows the teacher to see who is interrupting the class or not focussing on the task at hand. The ‘U’ shape of the desks allows the teacher to be in a central area of the room and also allows the teacher to easily interact with the students (Emmer, 1994). This structure of the class also minimises noise from students and lowers the chance of students being distracted by each other. As a teacher I will communicate with the students in a manor that makes them feel mature, the students should feel as if they are adults and not as if they are being treated like children (Baker, 2016). The classroom should have areas for storage of classroom objects like textbooks. It shouldn’t be full of storage, as this will make the room feel
