John Dewey said it well in his quote. That all life revolves around education. Every day no matter what you do you are somehow educating yourself. I feel like this is because other academic subjects;such as math history and science, focus too much on shoving cold hard facts into your head versus trying to let you think for yourself and find your own answers.Trying to teach to a standardized test and spoon feeding you the answers. This is why so many don’t know how to research the correct way, or in some cases don’t even know what tools are available to them. Some of these tools include textbooks, reliable websites, and videos created by experts in whatever you are studying. Even then you shouldn’t trust everything you read no matter where you find it or how official it looks. You also need to think for yourself when you write and research. You may be reading the same article as a million other people, but you’ll still most likely interpret it in your own …show more content…
For example, two people could both read Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Then get completely different impressions from it. One person might say that it is about accepting death and facing your fears. Though someone else may argue that it’s about growing up in a cruel prejudiced world where people will always attack you, and that it helps teach you how to stand up for what you believe in. Then they could argue argue for hours about which is correct. Then the author comes along and says it’s just supposed to be a cool fantasy story about a boy who goes to a magical school and that you’re reading too much into it. Though you still got something different out of it then anyone else did. This often happens when books are interpreted by fans and then authors come out and say what they are really about.
