Problem Posing Education Analysis

Paulo Freire’s ‘the banking concept of education’ states that a teacher is a depositor and the student is a bank account. His solution for this is ‘problem-posing education’ which in essence is taking that deposited value and investing it forward in their future and allowing them to invest the capital in different locations without restrictions. But there is a middle ground where you can use problem-posing education with the banking concept in a meld of the old and the new, meaning that if you take the information provided to you and then use your critical thinking skills to analyze it understand the ideas and concepts you can take that knowledge and use it for not just what 's in front of you but also keep it as a form of reference. With all this in mind, think of the perfect utopia where learning is non-oppressive and you are the driver in the learning experience. The perfect student would be one that has a high level of Engagement. Would it be something a student feel as giving them complete freedom, or a certain boundaries necessary for students to learn. What are some improvements that can be put into the future with problem posing education and other innovations. Some important steps would be analyzing students and getting the competencies and providing positive general feedback, positive specific feedback and the same for negative feedback meaning general and specific. Something this could help do is instead of learning being a one-way road that happens to be a dead end that your destination, it can be in multilane highway that allows you to choose how to get your destination and have the ability to get off the road use other avenues to explore smaller locations and then get back on that highway. Getting both the student and the teacher to analyze the work in unison’s and separate an collaborating to see the idea, exploring a new depth and questioning what has been presented. This can be seen as the old part of the banking concept, presenting of information and then using the process of problem posing education to go forward to explore new avenues. In this learning environment, there are no right or wrong answers, but a forum where you were questioning what is presented and seeing what hypotheses have already been proven an understood the reason for why what it is. A great way to start this learning environment for students would be in the first eight grades of learning. An what can be done is for the first four grades teaching basic knowledge, concepts and providing the building blocks of education, having a 70/30 of the banking concept and problem posing education. At that age the banking concept is more viable than the problem posing education. Then in grades five through eight, students could pick their subjects of study, but having a minimum requirement of finishing certain subjects before the end of the fourth year. And in this process, you 're using parts of problem posing education and still providing them with the banking concept of storing information in the students the opposite of the previous 70/30.
