I understand your point and I can see where you are coming from, but education should be a requirement within law enforcement. A majority of on the job experience as you stated do occur out in the field, but training does not account for the new direction of the criminal. Education changes the playing field and expanse the knowledge of the officer. The new era criminal is no longer on the street they now sitting behind computer and commit crimes across the country. An educated officer is much more tolerate to the people and the environment patrol, whereas an officer without a degree is less tolerate and quicker to use force.
