Educ 632 Reflection Paper

EDUC 632 is related to Liberty’s Mission and Conceptual Framework because it teaches its teachers (or soon to be teachers) the SCRIP. First, to be successful teachers, one needs to have social responsibility. This is demonstrated by us coming to class every weekend that is required. The same can be said for the commitment along with being committed to the program. If we were not serious about this, we would not be here. However, since we are here, then we are committed to this. We all have had to reflect (reflective practice) during this course a time or two, whether it was due to our presentations; our fellow classmates’ presentations; and for me specifically, the tests as I am not a good test taker. For us to grow as Christian educators, we need to implement integrity into our own lives so that we may be able to pass this along to our students. This is seen through our presentations as well as how we act towards our classmates. Lastly, we have all had to be profession (show professionalism) during our presentations along with not doing anything inappropriate while in class. First, I did not “read” that we had to turn in our written assignment the week that our presentation was due. Since I was one of four that had to go first (still feel like a guinea pig), my grade was marked down. To me, this is not acceptable since had I realized this and/or did not have to go first, I would have had it done (this is the perfectionist in me). Other than that, my peer reviews were better than I had imagined they would be. I am NOT a public speaker. Get me in front of students and I could talk all day; however, get me in a room full of classmates/grownups, I tend to be more shy along with just flat out
