Everyday, men and women are creating ideas to better our world. When they sell these ideas, and make a profit off of them, they are titled entrepreneurs. This unit was created to show that students could be entrepreneurs as well. The students are actually creating a product that will be used in their school. They will be continuing their efforts throughout the year to make it a successful proposition. Their propositions start as a Shark Tank proposal which they practice in front of their principal, classroom teacher, and a special guest. From those propositions, they will choose three that are a feasible option for the school. Out of those three, the students will vote on one that will be the class project for the year. The students will be watching a real Shark Tank episode and identifying the steps that are necessary in order to present a product. Along the way, the students begin to build their product and business plan with their groups. Roles are handed out for the students to complete throughout the day. This ensures that everyone is on task and working. In addition, they will each be completing the questions on the EdPuzzle. As the video plays, there will be pauses in which the students must answer a question. Those responses are recorded and reported to the teacher by the program. Finally, in Lesson three, the students complete their business plan, creation of a product, and presentation. This is the final assessment and activity. The students are engaged and challenged by the opportunity. They want their product to be the winning choice, so they are willing to work hard and put forth the effort to impress the Judges. Along with their presentation, they will write a short essay explaining the risks they took along the way. In general, this entire unit prepares the students for implementing business plans. They are learning the basics, brainstorming the ideas, and completing the expectations. Throughout it all, discussion is driving the classroom and motivating the students to incorporate different
