Edmundo's Essay: Western Culture

In his essay, Edmundo use various methods to convince that most readers read only for pleasure and entertainment, that only a few read to be influence. it was very interesting because it is true, most readers like myself only read to be entertain and feel good. People no longer want to be influence by those who came before us.
That the media has a lot of influence on peoples reading and the media has use it influence in selling what is new and hot now, not what can education the readers.

One reason for their higher social and cultural interactions may lie in the kind of civic and historical knowledge that comes with literary reading. In her essay, Prose use various methods to convince that the standard of reading is changing in order for student to understan devirsyty and be open to new social ideas, but because of the type of book and ways the book are been thought sutdent are disliking literature. no wonder student dislike literature is there at thought to lean from their own experceience where most student have never experience pregurist, rape or suicide. it is clear to my know why why high school student dislike literature is because they are not learning how to comprehend literature they are only reading literature that is easy to understand.
I find myself, each September, increasingly appalled by the dismal lists of texts that my sons are doomed to waste a school year
