You’ll become an archmage at this rate. I am sure, apprentices all go through the hardship at the start.” Edmond smiled as he tried to reassure him.
“How’s your training going?” Lucias asked, warlocks made him nervous, but Edmond was like a brother, no magic could change his mind about him.
“I am stuck with theories and understanding the basics. Though, they may let me try to summon an imp soon.” Edmond spoke as he paused, he moved his wooden staff out. “I see smoke, maybe camp fire coming from over that rocky hill.”
Lucias paused as he grabbed his tome, he flipped through. He was wanting last minute studying. “I… I am ready.” He had never fought before, always practiced. “How will we do this.”
“If I am correct, they might be camping against the rocky wall. We can attack them from the front, or… remember how we beat the Greymist twins.” Edmond smiled mischievously.
Lucias nodded, “How shall we get above them, the rocks are too high to- Wait, I will give you a boost.” Lucias moved towards the rock formation and held out his hands.

The year was 1585, when those men came—or should I even call them that. For they were not men, the were monsters. In the town of Werowocomoco (present day capital city of Virginia) lived us, the Secotans. The territory in which we lived in—Wingandacoa—was bounded by the Pamlico River and Albermarle Sound. In our town, there was a long narrow road which held 11 houses, fields—in which we grew corn, tabacco, and sunflower—watched by someone on a stand, a charnel house, dance ground, and communal fires for cooking and our solemne feasts.…

The gazpacho soup downstairs would have to wait until later. It was not often that Eutropio would reject his wife's simple cooking, but there was an urgency in his eyes that told of trouble. Seeing this she'd approached the window beside him. Peering out, the loving couple gazed down with a plummeting sensation in their empty bellies, acknowledging the three soldiers climbing off their magnificent stallions and turning with a look of disgust to the front door.…

Eric Battleaxe stood on guard like he was always trained to do. He didn’t know which came first, but the one thing he did know how to do was wield the axe and he wielded it well. His small elven body was taut and toned, dressed in the tunic and small battle armor of the elven army of which he was a lowly private. Destined to fall in one of the small and petty wars that were always waged in the underworld, fought since the dawn of the sundering for no other reason than a few acres of land or a better access to the river, his sworn duty was the same as his families for eons and that was to defend the expanse of Lord Corelion unto death.…

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven.
