If students are free to discuss topics, and make comments on other’s writing, they must make sure that there is no room for bullying. The teacher must make sure that students and their parents are aware of cyber bullying and that it will not be tolerated in and outside of school. Additionally, teachers need to make accommodations for blind students, finding a text-to-speech tool that can be used with Edmodo’s different features. Google Classroom has the same type of social networking as Edmodo, allowing students to take part in discussions and make comments on assignments. All of student work is saved in their Google Drive, making their work easy to access and no chance of being lost among piles a paper. Both systems now have a way to grade assignments, communicate with parents, and create small groups for collaboration. Being fairly new with a release date in 2014, Google Classroom falls behind on teacher to teacher collaboration (“Google Classroom”, n.d.). When using Edmodo, one of the positive features is the teacher community. Not only can teachers within the same school system discuss and share ideas, but collaboration takes place with teachers throughout the world. Teachers can find new ideas, and share their ideas with others. There is also a feature to connect the common core standards to assignments, to make sure objectives are being mastered, which Google does not
