Through these roles, Liam has been leading and organising large, high-quality events that involved ECU students, staff, nationally and internationally recognised industry partners, and professional bodies. This includes the 2015 Technology, Engineering, and …show more content…
This has also involved coordination with other universities from Western Australia to organise quiz evenings to engage with students both from Edith Cowan University and Tokyo City University.
In addition to his work with student groups and programs internally at ECU, Liam volunteers at St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School in Ocean Reef, assisting with their Robotics program, which uses LEGO Robotics kits to introduce robotics concepts to gifted and talented Year 6 students. Liam also helps with the school's “All Stars” program, which aids gifted students who are experiencing social or anxiety issues . He is currently developing a series of lessons which use a video game called Minecraft to teach introductory science and engineering concepts to the gifted and talented students.
Finally, Liam also sits on the School of Science Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning Committee, and has been actively involved in meetings and events such as the Teaching and Learning Strategic Planning Session that was held in May, and the Vice Chancellor's Student
