This study consists of a survey conducted on Edgewood students. The sample consists of several classes. The initial portion of the study is a survey. This utilizes quantitative methods. This study is designed to give a detailed perspective of the topic.
Six Edgewood classes were used for the sample population. These courses were chosen through a combination of convenience and through Edgewood’s Tag program. Tags are general graduation requirements at Edgewood College. These courses they tend to have the best diversity among majors and may be taken in any year of a student’s college career. Due to only using students from Edgewood, this study is not generalizable, and due to limitations, the study is also imperfect in representing the Edgewood population. The selection of courses was used to increase the randomness of the sample through taking six classes each with a different Tag or set of Tags. To make findings from further research generalizable, a study could move up to a state, national, or international level, taking a random sample of students and colleges across the set population. In addition to this, further studies could greatly increase the sample size. This would allow for more accurate and potentially significant findings when analyzing the data while controlling for various factors. A study with a higher level of resources could also provide an incentive for participants. This would allow for more detailed surveys in order to raise the level of control.
