Edgar's Speech Analysis

In the third scene, in my subtitling, the viewer watches the director of FBI crying because he thinks that president Nixon will “crucify” him if he does not fulfill his orders. So, Edgar asks Helen, his secretary, to do something if anything happens to him. Clyde asks Edgar to leave The Bureau peacefully, but Edgar tells him that his speech makes him questions his loyalty. As a result, Edgar’s true character appears when his friend Clyde reveals new facts about him. Edgar is a fake hero who stole his colleagues’ achievements, claiming that he did it.
