Edgar Wright has established his directorial style, despite only having six films under his belt. Baby Driver is no exception. For the entirety of the picture Wright fuses his visual comedy style with over-the-top action sequences involving Baby (Ansel Elgort) driving around his determined heist crew. He clearly enjoys his “job”, but is in great debt with Doc (Kevin Spacey), who he has been repaying ever since stealing and driving his car at a young age. There are standouts in each crew, Bats (Jamie Foxx) who is difficult at times and continues to pester Baby because of his tinnitus. Lanny Joon’s clumsy J.D. is constantly messing up, but is attempting to regain his normal self again as seen by his Hate to Hat tattoo.
