Director Edgar Wright used his quick cuts and his approach to visual comedy techniques, in a way that no one has ever seen before. There are a number of reasons why this should be a must watch for moviegoers of all kinds. From the beloved charters to its amazing hipster comedy. This film should be a blueprint of how to make a true comic book film. It starts off with an amazing credit intro that would even have made Quentin Tarantino blush. That reason would be because Tarantino and many other directors would help fellow director Edgar Wright with this movie. Scott Pilgrim’s life changes when he meets and falls in love with Ramona Flowers. But in order to win her heart she needs to go against her seven evil exes’, one by one. The first thing that I though of is how are they going to have that many antagonist in the film without losing any character development with the protagonist. …show more content…

I didn’t think that he should have added that part of the comic books into the movie. It seemed that the producers said that he needed to add 15 minutes to the movie, so he just found her part in the comic book and added it to the film.
You can look at many films that try to put together a number of characters or villains in one movie, but fail to have a certain flow to the movie. In Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 they had three villains, which were Green Goblin, Sandman, and Venom. But, all the villains seemed forced in the film were, as Scott Pilgrim VS The World seemed to flow better. It looks like the student is surpassing the master when it comes to directing a film because of how Edgar Wright uses a lot of Sam Rimini’s techniques like quick

At least it does so for me. Final thoughts, I really liked this film. The acting is solid across the board with Kevin Gage standing out. His portrayal of a violent man, who delights in violent deeds is incredibly sincere. Not that anyone one else is the cast was slacking, but Gage stands out in memory where others, such as Shannon Eubanks does not.…

easy to follow. Without the great use of visualization in the movie, it would not have been nearly as successful. It really helps the movie reach a much broader audience than it would have without these animations. Third cinema is heavily influenced by Neorealism, and in the film Battle of Algiers it is very present. The opening of the movie for example when the man is forced to wear the military uniform and expose the man in the wall and his family in hiding , lays out a narrative of a current conflict with the militia and the citizens of the town. Which is an example of both third cinema and neorealism, because one of the traits of both is that there is some type of political or social issue occurring which is shown in that seen. Another direct influence of neorealism shown is the location.…

This is a special movie. It doesn't fit the normal "feel-good" drama genre though. This is one of those movies that pulls you in, let's you physically and mentally associate with the characters, fills you with hope, beats you over and over again, drains your emotional resources, and when the closing credits appear, feel something long after the end credits are done rolling. In a word - "mesmerizing".…

One thing I have to mention about this movie are the scenario. The picks of locations and setting are excellent. For example, at the scene where Charlie and Raymond were driving to LA, it showed three shots from morning to night. The contrast between them made me feel involved. The debate of whether a director can be called an auteur/have authorship is one with strong arguments on both sides. Orson Welles was an outsider to the studio system and directed only 13 full-length films throughout his career. Due to this, Welles often struggled for creative control over his films from the major studios, and his films were either heavily edited or remained unreleased. He has been praised as a major creative force and as ‘the ultimate auteur’. Welles and his editor, Robert Wise, had originally created a 148-minute cut of The Magnificent Ambersons before the studio took over; narrowing it down to a much shorter 88-minute length ready for release.…
