It was Friday the 13th, Poe pulled the bedcover up over his head. As he was laying there, he could feel the beat of his heart frantically beating as if something was wrong. There was a sound of laughter followed by an eerie moaning. He questioned himself on what this noise could be. Deep in his thoughts, he told himself over and over, it’s just the wind coming out of the chimney. There’s nothing to worry about. Out of nowhere the sound of footsteps began from the dark hallway right outside his room. Slow, purposeful footstep began edging towards his bedroom door. Poe panicking, he reached up to turn on the lamp he had sitting next to him. Not just an ordinary lamp though, a gas one which casted a flickering orange shadow against the wall as
