Edgar Allan Poe was born in January 19, 1809 in Boston, MA. Poe’s parents were professional actors. He would say that he got most of his talent from his mother. When Poe was not even three years old his mother died. Edgar was then adopted by the family of John Allan. Poe and his new family left to Richmond, Virginia. Edgar took the name Allan as his middle name. He and his new family later moved to England, where Poe started his education. Poe attended to the University of Virginia, where he impressed his teachers and classmates with his work. Unfortunately, Poe had to drop out school for a debt he owed. At eighteen Edgar signed for the U.S Army and had two years of sergeant major. Poe signed out the army and later got a job of an editor. Edgar also married Virginia Clemn, his cousin.
Later in time, Poe’s wife gets very ill. Poe wasn’t easily going to give up. He managed to do great poems and stories like “The Raven” in 1845. Virginia died and Edgar became ill and depressed. He would also drink a lot. After he recovered Allan wasn’t the same men he was before. Edgar became a womanizer and after being with all those women’s he found the one who would do him right, When Poe was on his way to help out a woman with her poems, Poe stopped in Baltimore and began to drink again. Edgar was found senseless and was taken in the hospital and a few days later he passed away in October 7 at age forty. After Poe’s dead the poem “Annabel Lee” was out.
