Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachussets on January 19th, 1809. He was a well known poet of his time and many well known poems. Some of his most famous works are " The Raven", The Masque of the Red Death", "The Tell-Tale Heart", and many other short stories with morbid, and dark qualities to them. Althoug Poe was a great poet, he had a hard life from the time he was born till the time of his death in a hospital on Sunday, October 7th, 1849. When Poe was 18, he was broke and had no job skills, and his father David Poe didn't agree with him so he went to Boston in 1827 to join the U.S. Army.
