Throughout the semester there were english course materials that have just been learned and with this class English 5B the understandings of most of that material are being met. The class went at a good pace with examples and demonstrations on how to work on them. Everyday in class there would be classroom activities involving the stuff that was learned with either groups to expand our own knowledge or just self work with the professor analysing how someone's understandings to it is. The improvements on writing a good Rhetorical Analysis is ranging to a good path. From not knowing what a Rhetorical Analysis paper is to learning how to write one is a journey of various class lectures.…
Challenging. Adventure. Rewarding. Life Changing. Those are four adjectives that describe my eighth grade year.…
Eighth grade is going well so far for the following reasons. One reason is, I met a lot of new friends. Another reason is, I have foods with my friend Payton, and we have lunch together after that. Then, on B-Days I have lunch with my friend Taylor, Lucia, and Sarah. I love my teachers because they are all nice, caring, and funny.…
Getting back to school after a couple years off is so exciting. Dallas is much hotter this summer. That makes the idea going to school even hotter than ever. I love my school now, Collin College, where the students are friendly and the instructors are caring and helpful. Choosing the right school makes four years in college seem easier.…
This year has been a crazy one. I came from a public school, not knowing anyone, so I terrified and didn't know what to expect. I struggled with trusting others, time management and battling multiple tasks at once. Luckily, I had a lot of practice throughout the year. For instance when we had to record a News Show for Mr.Mora's class, I was faced with all of these problems.…
I appreciate the hard work that the paramedics and EMTs do for the communities. I spent a day with the paramedics and EMTs in Memphis as part of my training in combat medic training. Even though I rode along for only eight hours, it was a very eventful day. I learned that it takes a very unique person to be a paramedic or EMT.…
These past few years in the middle school have been the best. I have learned a lot from this school. All the wonderful teachers will help you with anything you need. They are so generous and will always care for you. The teachers aren’t even half of why i had an amazing time here.…
The first quarter of second semester is going really well. In the beginning of January, I got accepted into my first choice college, Sonoma State University, which makes me feel euphoric. I will be majoring in Criminology/Criminal Justice and it is an impacted major, but my very good GPA and ACT scores got me into it. I am very excited for what is to come, once school starts, in August. The campus has aspects of beauty ubiquitously placed all around.…
This first semester of my last year here at V.I.S.A has been tough. Whoever said senior year was going to be fun and easy never went through the rigor that V.I.S.A provides. I have grown so much both academically and globally over these 4 years and never thought there was more to learn. I was wrong because two events (me writing my research paper and the rally in the valley) have changed my perspectives and taught me more about a topic. I have grown as an academic student by writing my research paper in both English and A.P. Government.…
This year I learned more about writing than any others years I had English. I loved the hand on practices, tips, and lessons that we always had to prepare us for the writing assignments. I am so used to learn all rules and figure out when to break them, and when to keep them. It was really confusing how l learn to write. Therefore I was never a good writer or cared to be one.…
This week in third grade was very different, it was a short week due to our professional development. Monday was a normal day starting with our spelling unit which I have already taken over. I am still helping the students work through the first day by explaining the skill. This week I asked students to work on day two independently and turn it in when they finished. I was noticing that students were not doing the work and waiting to fill it in until we went over it as a class.…
The first day of school wasn’t bad at all, I walked up to the black top with all of my friends and it was a great day. I love U.S history, especially since we have a teacher called Dr. Mills teaching us. The class is so fun to learn about and I hope to be an historian when I grow up. The middle of the year went by really fast. We practically zoomed through January, February, March, and April.…
Upon reflection of the EDF5141 Health unit. I believe it has assisted me in gaining some skills which will result in helping me reach my goals as a teacher. These goals I have for myself align with two Australian Professional Teaching Standards (APST) by the AITSL. These include ‘knowing the content and how to teach it’ and ‘plan for and implement effective teaching and learning’. ‘Knowing the content and how to teach it’ is a standard from the Professional Knowledge section and talks about the knowledge you have for the subject and understanding how it should be taught which suits the learning style of the students whilst aligning with the Australian government's requirements.…
We live in a world where fear and anxiety are common and in some point in our lives we will all witness a traumatic event, however, the way one reacts to trauma can affect him/her in the long-run. Some people are able to cope and progress from the life-threatening event with a fight-or-flight response, which is a natural coping mechanism that protects an individual from harm, while others remain constantly frightened, which leads to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). PTSD is a psychological disorder that is triggered by a traumatic event. This individual becomes irritable, anxious, easily frightened, depressed, and has flashbacks or nightmare of the traumatic event. Some individuals recovery in a 6-month period, while for others it becomes a chronic condition (NIMH, nd.).…
This experience this summer has been a trying and difficult one and has quite possibly solidified my future decision to not continue to work here. I was again paired with an ESD Specialist that did not have time to spend in the field and train me about vital aspects of the job. First, I continue to feel inadequate in my ability to identify any ecological site in the field. Secondly, I spent the majority of my time here proofreading ESD reports and copy/pasting information. Any time I attempted to do anything more than spellcheck and correct punctuation, I felt like my previous work experience and impute was meet with dissatisfaction, rudeness and disregard as a person.…
