Surfing is Eddie Aikau’s favorite thing to do. He was an excellent and a brave surfer who surfed the mountain-like wave on Hawai’i. His life showed how he surfed with affection and he surfed like he is one with the ocean. He accepts challenges that goes on his life. Eddie Aikau dreamed in sailing on the Hokule’a and to share his culture and its history to the world.
According to the article on Eddie Aikau Foundation, “He took on the responsibility, not only of helping to make the beaches safer, but of willingly sharing his knowledge of the ocean with visitors to Hawaii so they could enjoy the beautiful beaches and go home safely to their family and friends”.
