Ed Sullivan got to meet famous people all the time, he met the Jackson 5, Walt Disney, and Fidel Castro. He met them on his variety show where they performed or he interviewed them. If you wanted to be seen in front of thousands of people, you wanted to be on “The Ed Sullivan Show” because they had every type of talent on the show. “The Ed Sullivan Show” was popular ever since the first show. Ed Sullivan is best known for entertaining people through his variety show, where he introduced people like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Martin and Jerry Lewis.
Ed Graduated from high school in New York City although he grew up in Port Chester, New York, after graduation he worked for many New York News Papers. Ed started out as a sports reporter in the 1920s as a quickly growing group of writers, writing about burgeoning New York City professional sports scene. Soon Ed had fans and skeptical enemies, although he did become a big topic in Broadway circles for the rest of his career. Sullivan hosted two other shows on Broadway, Crazy with the Heat in 1941 and Harlem Cavalcade in 1942, these shows had short runs he also hosted a New York vaudeville shows from 1933 to 1948 (Greenfield, 2015).
