More than thirty five percent of the United State’s population has Eczema. Eczema is a skin disease that causes dry and itchy skin. Eczema can affect virtually any parts of a person’s body, but it mainly affects the arms and back. Unlike any other itch, scratching doesn’t help, but it makes the itching worse. Most people of suffer from Eczema also suffer from very harsh food allergies. When the Allergies are triggered, the Eczema can often become worse. When a person with Eczema is stressed, their Eczema begins to worsen. The most common type of Eczema is called Atopic Dermatitis. Atopic Dermatitis is mostly in young children, but can also be present in adults. This type of Eczema is usually gone by the time the children are teenagers. Netherton Syndrome is a type of Eczema that causes bubbles to form on the skin. Unlike all the other types of Eczema, this type is mainly caused by environmental factors such as insect bites and germs. What makes Eczema so hard to get rid of is its ability to come back. Nearly all Eczema patients noticed that their Eczema comes back at least once per year. Eczema is still a disorder that people know little about, but scientist are making progress in identifying the causes of Eczema.

Animals with Eczema are more likely to develop a very serious skin diseases because the eczema is usually hidden under their fur and is invisible to the human eye. For example, dogs with eczema scratch, lick, and bite their skin when they have eczema. The skin then gets infected and causes the animal to get bad skin diseases and lice.
