Summary: The Influence Of Climate Change On Business

Business is an increasing competition among the global market with dominating countries and new countries are slowly climbing up the global business ladder the past decade. The United States remains of the largest exporting nations in the world, even though the U.S exports a lower percentage of its products than other countries such as China (Nickels, p. 65). The three major changes that are currently impacting businesses are the U.S usage of economic sanctions, bank consolidation, and climate change on tourism.
One major change that is currently impacting businesses is the United State’s over usage of economic sanctions in order to get another country to abide the law or to punish that country. An economic sanction is a foreign policy strategy where a country ceases economic trade and financial relations with another country for security or foreign reasons. Global warming is coming and it’s coming fast, the effects that climate change have on the tourism business and economic development is crucial to the global market. Tourist decisions for travel is heavily depended on these conditions “climate, the natural environment, income and discretionary wealth, personal safety, and travel costs are key factors in travel motivations and destination choice” (Gössling, 2012, p. 1), these key factors impact the tourism demand. Since temperature is quickly changing and affecting the world, tourist are more likely to stay in their home countries or only travel to nearby regions. Another major impact of climate change on business is regions with high winter tourist, due to global warming regions with ski businesses have a negative demand due to warmer weather and less snow fall. Businesses can deal with this by using fake snow machines to create an environment suitable for
