Interpretation of Survey Results This survey has allowed to gain a much greater understanding the audience’s perspective on the issues I will be focusing on. I can create a speech that can focus on shaping issues that they do not have a strong opinion on, reinforce what they already support, and possibly change what they disagree with. The overarching opinions from the surveys are that the economy is important and that poverty is a problem. Since these are two of the main things I am trying to prove, I will likely go into the speech with a lot of support. According to the results from the first question, approximately 58% of the class believes that economic inequality is wrong, while only about 33% disagree. With such differing options, I will have to put a lot of effort into proving that economic inequality is wrong. It shows that certain people in the class have experienced significant hardships due to economic inequality. It also goes into minor hardships experienced by about half the class. It ends off with everyone agreeing that the economy is important. This will likely be the most important part of my presentation. Using ego involvement, I can make the economy seem a lot more relevant to the class. If I can speak about how people in the class at that moment have suffered the hardships of economic inequality, it will feel a lot more personal and real.
