In railroads, steam, steal transformation, gasoline combustion, electricity, market nationalizing and oil industry. All these transformations have helped defined Texas economy over the last 150 years. Cotton, being the oldest crops has cultivated the cotton industry. Cotton production has a played a major role Texas farmers. Among another contribution to the economy is the Ranching production. This is something that significantly has been important in Texas, will remain important and continue to grow. Most Latinos since the 19th century immigrated to Texas to work in the emerging cotton, farming production for a better opportunity. Since the 19th century the Latino population have constituted a great part of different cities in Texas. The oil and gas industry has transformed our social and economy of Texas. It has been a rapid industrialization, companies for example, Gulf Coast, Magnolia Petroleum, Exxon, Chevron are just a few that have increased production since 1929. The oil itself has had its fluctuations in years, example seen on Table 1.2 in the textbook. It’s predicted that this year 2017 oil and gas will slowly improve in the market. Furthermore, creating more jobs in the oil field regulates the economy for everyone. In addition, Nafta is an international trade agreement that was signed in 1992, for a free trade zone for trade between Mexico and Texas, that is very important for Texas. I believe more and more people will continue to come to Texas for a better opportunity and contribute to our economy.
