In 1492 America was accidentally stumbled across by Christopher Columbus when he was in search of Asia for riches. As America became heard of throughout the world, explorers began to look for passages through or around America. While doing so they noticed the great fishing grounds that the northern shores had. As this created many oppourtunities for fishermen it also began to create economic gains for Euorpeans. The travelers to the New World had many objects and items that the Indians lacked. The Europeans would trade blankets, jewlery and copper pots to the Indians for things like ivory, food and fur. As the trade grew so did explorations.
