Coming into my first year of college, I had no idea what to expect. Everyone says that you have to be overly prepared because college is much harder than high school. I will have to admit, it was quite daunting the first few days of classes. However, being a part of my Econ 110 class has surely made the whole college experience much easier and more enjoyable! In the first few weeks of this class, we were assigned the task of interviewing a couple of students One of them had to be a student taking the Econ 110 class, and the other had to be an upperclassman. Interviewing the upperclassman seemed to be much more beneficial to me. I learned of a few different ideas that have made this semester much easier. I now work with this student in

The resume preparation assignment was great! I loved receiving feedback from my advisors on how to improve my resume. They also helped us prepare for career fair. If it wasn’t for the advice I had received in class, I don’t think that I would have landed six internship offers from career fair! We also took a big step in figuring out the classes we need to take throughout our time here at Iowa State. This assignment by far had the biggest impact on me. I love the four-year plan idea. Being able to see all of the classes in order of when you would like to take them took a lot of stress away from me. This is a great tool to use when registering for classes. I know I will be using this spreadsheet the whole time I am here! This class also taught me about myself. If I were to go back through this course and do things again; I would make a few different changes. I would try to be less of a procrastinator. Although I did work ahead for the most part, I got caught in crunch time once. I feel as if I wasn’t able to put by best effort in to that assignment. Secondly, I would try to participate more in class by asking a few more questions. I feel that this course sets you up for prime success if you utilize all that it has to offer. I would definitely take advantage of that aspect more than I did this
