Write out the prompt:
In your introduction, briefly summarize Rees 's essay (the nature of the ecological crisis and primary solution as he states it) and establish how concerned you are by sharing the result of your eco-footprint test and reading his essay. Your thesis is to argue that you can (OR CANNOT) make a difference on the personal, national, and global level and explain three solutions as examples - these must be new to you. You cannot take both positions! You either can or cannot make a difference! Draw from the materials your instructor has presented in announcement and weekly assignments. ________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph I – INTRODUCTION …show more content…
Many eco villages have natural ways of processing things such as waste and reuse many things such as rainwater for gardening. They also use less money than we believed for this type of culture. This makes them sustainable because if cut off from the world they would be able to survive by themselves. Their eco footprint is minimal because they throw things minimally and they reuse almost everything. They also grow everything which means that they don’t have to use pesticides and most of the foods was grown locally. This makes everything self-sustaining because food is grown locally, land is used for growing food, water is recycled and land is shared with everyone.
Rebuttal(s)
Some people might say if they share everything then they don’t have their own homes. In this case they do have separate houses in most villages. The other part is if they are so good at being eco-friendly then why we don’t have more of them. For this I would I have to point out that these villages are started by the community members agreeing to live like this and most villages we have would not want to conform to this standard but they can adapt many of the things that these villages do.
Paragraph 5 - CONCLUSION In all we know that we can become an ecofriendly world and we have resources to do it. The thing is when are we all going to transfer over. Many of us are in the process of switching and that is very awesome. I leave you with this one question. How long would the earth last if we didn’t begin this and are you already
