The Edge of Eternity
I slipped on my black dress, laced my black shoes, and stroked my eyelashes with a black mascara brush. I stared at myself in the mirror as my miserable, watery eyes blinked a couple times, pushing the tears down my face. I stretched my trembling hands to the highest shelf in the cupboard and fumbled for the box of tissues. I should not have put on that black mascara.
I looked out the window as the trees and houses zoomed by me. The rain poured down against the car window. I followed the path of a single drop as it made its way towards the bottom. My tears mimicked the dreary rain in the same motion, forming drops and rolling down my face. Our car pulled up to the funeral home, and the thunder began to roll towards us.

Anything that brings joy to you on this earth is nothing compared to what being in the presence of God will be like. God is pure, loving, and faithful. In heaven there will be no sin because God cannot stand sin. The Glory of the Lord will be so overwhelming that we will fall to our knees. While being in the presence of God for eternity, we will be filled with never-ending joy. Revelation 21:10-11 describes the glory of God saying, “And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like jasper, clear as crystal.” (The Holy Bible ESV) The presence of God in Heaven will be perfect compared to what it will be like in the presence of Satan in …show more content…
They are both two completely different places, but will last for eternity. One day the Lord will come back and judge the living and the dead. Everything you have done in your life will be held on trial, and the only thing that will save you is Jesus Christ himself. What a shame it would be to miss the cut. What a shame it would be to be so caught up in this world that you miss the truth. What a shame it would be if you ignored the truth and went on with the broken lives you are living. What a shame it would be to serve the father of lies. What a shame it would be. Matthew 24:42 says, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.” (The Holy Bible

They meet someone, have a family and move out to the suburbs. That is the path that most americans take throughout their long journey in life.
