This meeting will be less formal and talk about the ongoing changes the hospital is working on and what they hope to see happen in the coming year. The meeting will also talk about what a hard year it was and the change the hospital has seen. However, they believe the changes have been for the best and have helped move the hospital forward. It will once again be a closed meeting, with no questions allowed. This helps control the press conference and help eliminate surprises. It was a lovely day and I was able to attend the unit meeting. Our care manager discussed a lot of pertinent information that can improve the quality of care that we are giving to the residents in the unit. She emphasised about the completion of short term care plans, bowel book and incident forms. She also reminded the staff regarding the incoming staff auditing, infection control policies, management of outbreak and confidentiality of the residents. In addition, she informed all the staff to keep the medicine cupboards locked at all times, avoid overfilling the white bags and be aware of the toileting needs of the residents.…

The movie Grease displays the epitome of girls night, Sandy and her new-found friends spend a night at Rizzo’s house singing, gossiping, and writing love letters. Sandy goes in the bathroom, flustered and overwhelmed by the plethora of questions being pushed on her by the Pink Ladies, and Rizzo begins the iconic song, “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee.” The song is funny at the expense of Sandy, and the recognition of being made fun of drives Sandy to a ponderous ballad. As the Pink Ladies ridiculed Sandy in the 1950’s musical, girls in today’s world similarly ridicule their peers; however, the fun is made at the expense of other adolescents on a much more public platform, they can do it online. Social media can be used to create opportunities to…

When Charles Darwin published his work on natural selection, he suggested how absolutely important the ability to adapt is in the natural world. However, the concepts of adaptation and evolution apply to more than survival of the fittest in the natural world and, in fact, hold true in business as well. Founded in the 1930s, the Old Spice company produces hygiene products for men and women, with their original focus being on shaving soap and aftershave lotion (“History of Old Spice,” n.d.). An early part of the company trademark that continues to this day is a nautical theme centered around images of a three-masted sailing ship. This paper is based on the the Black mirror’s episode “ Nose Dive Lacie lives in a world where people's status is directed by their rating on social media. How over time, human behavior has become so dependent on the social media behavior of rating and review their fellow humans, not the the products on amazon or eBay. Nose Dive takes the way social media increases our inherent desire to be liked and makes it algorithmic. Instead of crafting insinuative status updates or tweaking Instagram photos, the people in Lacie’s world rate every interaction, even ones as casual as passing someone on the street, on a scale from one to five stars, and their collective score is the lone marker of their worth. “High fours” are the social elite, while sinking…

The goal of this study was to explore and set up a new way of working with the introduction of an additional service. This service was to close the gaps of inequality in care and the missed change to involve patients in their future planning for recovery. With this in mind the return appointment system for patients who deliberately self-harm was extended to include patients who were intoxicated, out of hours and voicing thoughts of self-harm, but not suicide. Despite these intentions, there is always going to be inconsistencies around, how much is “too drunk”, and differing interpretation of risk.…

When cutting out social media it’s a big step, especially when you seem to do it every day and it’s something you used too. My experience with cutting out social media, media, advertisements, or anything else said in this category. It was quite hard, because sometimes I tried so hard not to look at the advertisements, but the pretty lights and the music were the things that caught onto my attention especially with the different sound effects that go along with it. I spend a lot of my own time listening to music, and on social media and somehow getting caught by different advertisements.…
