The event was held in one of the buildings on the Lenawee fair grounds. Project Connect has turned into an annual event with the purpose of connecting those who are homeless or financially instable with resources that can help them tremendously. A LenConnect article about this year’s event stated there was going to be more than fifty vendors providing free supplies and services at the event (Daily Telegram, 2016).
On the day of the event, almost every booth was full. The vendors at the event ranged from a local church and the Salvation Army to Habitat for Humanity and a mobile medical clinic. Almost all of the vendors had free items or services to give away. There was clothes, blankets, and first aid kits as well as haircuts, flu shots and financial counseling being provided. In addition to all of the giveaways, a free hot meal was also handed out and several prizes were raffled off. As for other people in attendance there were guest of all walks of life, as well as volunteers who were all there for different reasons. Moreover, an officer from the Sheriff’s office and Chief Emrick of the Adrian Police Department also showed up to be seen at the event. A Michigan US Congressman named, Tim Walberg, even made an appearance as well to speak with vendors and guests. The event turned out to a successful one with a constant flow of help seekers throughout the four
