In the last five years, I have worked as a CNA, an LVN at a nursing home and clinic, and an RN in the CVICU. All of these experiences have greatly contributed to my solid nursing foundation. During the first half of the semester for ENC 1102, I believe that my writing skills have improved from ENC 1101; some of which are getting to page length, correctly citing a source, and incorporating how a quote is related to my argument. I still have some errors within my writing that I have not quite figured out how to tackle. Some concepts that I have not gotten down to a tee must be coming up with a thesis statement, basic grammar errors, introducing quotations, and repetition. My responsibility for this workshop was to proceed with a handover of a patient to an intern (played by Dr. Michael Adamson). This was a particularly disasterous session. My performance was not only unfit within the scope of academic criteria, but was clearly short of acceptable for a real-world SBAR. During the reading of the scenario I was daunted by the task of having to SBAR report a patient to admission at a hostpital, based on information I was reading for the first time; my practice with the hand-over system was minimal prior to the session.…

Throughout this whole quarter, I would say that I have learned a lot in this class. Not only that I learned what is in the syllabus but also the importance of being able to apply my understandings on a problem. I believe that the instructor did a great job in addressing the learning outcomes in this class by helping us in understanding the concepts that we need to learn in order complete this course. One of the learning outcomes of this course is that each students should be able to describe, interpret and predict the propagation of energy via waves, using applied conservation of energy principles. I have taken two AOK1 courses: CIS 102T (Intergenerational Computing) and POL 110 (Leadership and Advocacy). For CIS 102T the professor matched me with two elderly people at a nursing home. I visited the nursing home twice a week and taught two senior citizens how to use technology while checking their blood pressure and weight to ensure that they were healthy. My goal was to help senior citizens learn to use technology in order to improve their lives. Before taking SGST 200 class, I had a very narrow view of sexualities and gender’s problems, but I was fine with that for such a long time. Even when I decide to take this class, I wasn’t expecting to change or have a whole new view of problems like racism, sexism, and homophobia. Class #1 No readings (yet) Course introduction and overview I am extremely excited about PACS 331 and the content that we are going to cover throughout the term. I’ve always been interested in trauma healing and hope that after the course I will be more knowledgeable about identifying trauma and about how to help those who have experienced or are experiencing it. When I considered taking WRTG 101 this semester I was unsure how much it would affect my writing style. I have always had issues with the strength of my writing and my overall writing style. Whether it was run on sentences, proper citations, an overall passive writing style, or proper use of pronouns my writing style needed a tune up. After taking this class I have an improved overall understanding of the writing process and how to apply it in different writing situations. Over the course of studying E214 I have thought greatly about my own practice working as an HLTA in a mainstream primary school, where I mainly work with children that experience barriers to learning. These barriers are due to the children having special educational needs or due to having English as an additional language. I now question whether the children I work with are part of a system that has created othering and if through them being othered they included as fully as possible or are they still subject to exclusion through the barriers they experience when accessing the national curriculum or through their progress not being as high as expected by society. When I reflect on my experience of this EH091 class, I cannot help but think that there has been a flame kindled from a spark made from the challenges laid out in the syllabus and module assignments setup for the students’ learning. I knew that I absolutely loved reading and learning but what I wasn’t prepared for was what I discovered about myself in subsequent. In the past, I had been named in my classes in high school as a gifted artist and a decent poet.
