Within the art piece, the first thing my eye as a viewer is drawn to is the large, bright, atrophying body of Christ. The body of Christ is emphasized so much through light, which glistens his skin, but also through lines along his body signifying distress and atrophy. These lines along his body further set the solemn mood of the art piece, in a manner that, if the main point of focus is distressed and appearing damaged, so does the entire piece as a whole, of course with the aid of supporting elements, such as light and space.
