As we age, spills turn into heart wrenching screams. The most ear aching screeches you have ever heard. We yell and yell until we get what we want and we always get what we want because screaming will be the death of you. You had all these plans about how to spend summer vacation but all you do is catch up on those 12 weeks of sleep you missed while in school. Once in awhile you get a text asking if you would like to hang out. Hanging out in a high school sense means people vomiting alcohol everywhere, a bunch of fake people standing around staring at you as you walk in, and one quick call to the cops to test how fast of a runner everyone is. (Something not worth leaving your bedroom for.) You shoot them back a text, making up some sort of a white lie. (Any lie will really work, teens buy anything.) Something that goes a little like this, “sorry dude, mom’s making me clean the fish tank.” Being the smart teens we are we just believe the text and let it go. As your summer begins to feel like a waste before you know it you’re back in jail. (The only acceptable word I could find for school.) You made it past the stage of being a little fish in a big pond (underclassman) so I guess that could count for your short list of accomplishments while in high school. You are one year closer to the day you graduate this place and tell them all to, for lack of better words, eat
